Sundari's Kitchen Dosa Party

Private Dosa Party With Sundari's Kitchen

We recently had the opportunity to attend a private dosa party catered by Sundari's Kitchen.  Sundari moved to Ottawa from Montreal during the spring of the COVID pandemic unable to find employment anywhere including her field.

She decided to tap into her love of feeding people great food and quickly launched into a home based catering business that quickly went viral from Ottawa to Montreal and Toronto among the South Indian Community.

Let's roll back time a bit. Though Sundari was trained in computer engineering, during her years in Montreal  she became a shop owner bringing in textile products from India. While on a trip to India in 2014, she was so homesick for the real flavours of food found there, she and her husband started a small importing company as well just to supply their own family.

Sundari grew up in a small town and learned much about cooking and food from her grand mother. What she learned since coming to Canada that fresh non processed and organic food  was difficult to find in the hospitality industry as well as in the regular grocery stores.

When she started cooking during the pandemic, all she knew was that she wanted to offer what she does for her family to others so that they could taste for themselves what the delicacies and foods from India should taste like. That is precisely what she did and why things exploded so rapidly.

All the food Sundari prepares in her kitchen is fresh and made from scratch including her spices and flours. She never freezes or uses frozen foods.  Their restaurant location is still under construction so presently she works out of a commercial kitchen and offers private meals and dosa parties.

Having never heard or Dosa's before we were happy to have this opportunity. In actuality we had a feast of many many Tamil Nadu dishes along with the dosas. We had chicken curry, chicken 65, ghee idli with sambar, dahl vadas and so much more.

Sundari knows all the best ways to create the best South Indian Tamil Nadu dishes the way her grandmother did decades ago. When eating her food and listening to her stories you know that she pours her heart and soul into every bite she cooks up for her guests and clientele.

We had an awesome time and felt very privileged to be invited to this event. We definitely recommend Sundari's Kitchen for great food filled with flavour and love.
